Spiny Sun Star Shells

Striking, crown-shaped shells with a raised conical top and a ring of long, slender spines radiating outward like rays of the sun. The surface is finely ribbed and beaded, in warm cream to pale golden tones, and the flat underside is smooth and neat. Each shell is cleaned and sorted by size, and the number, length and curve of the spines vary naturally from piece to piece. Their sculptural, sunburst shape suits shelf and tabletop displays, collector sets, shadow boxes, wall art, and coastal interiors. Spines are delicate, so shells are carefully wrapped for shipping.
